And ought not this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan bound for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?” As he said this, all his adversaries were put to shame; and all the people rejoiced at all the glorious things that were done by him.

The Litany of Prudence
Lord God, we humbly implore you to bless us with the virtue of Prudence. Teach us to rely on You and let our lives be guided by Your wisdom.
When we are unsure about when and how to speak the truth in love.
R. Give us wisdom.
When we need to discern between waiting in faith and acting in courage.
R. Give us wisdom.
When we need to know how to express our kindness in ways that truly help others, not enable harm or sin.
R. Give us wisdom.
When we need to discern between courage and recklessness.
R. Give us wisdom.
When we need to anchor our joy in gratitude, faith and hope instead of the shallow things of the world.
R. Give us wisdom.
When our desires need to be governed so that our love remains pure and faithful to your commands.
R. Give us wisdom.
When we need to see ourself truthfully and act from that truth.
R. Give us wisdom.
When we are unyielding and need to show prudent temperance.
R. Give us wisdom.
When our diligence descends into busyness.
R. Give us wisdom.
When we need to know we must give thanks in all circumstances.

When we are generous, that we properly balance compassion with discernment.
R. Give us wisdom
Lord, help us to continually renew our minds so as to live lives in accordance with Your wisdom. Shape our human reason with divine wisdom.
